DNA samples of Podocarpus were prepared by modified CTAB method.80 primers from 4 Operon kits were screened
9 selected primers produced clear polymorphic patterns. Each of the 9 primers amplified 1~11 DNA fragments
and the mean number of the total fragments they produced in each sample. Generated by using UPGMA algorithm to cluster genetic distances calculated from RAPD data
the results imply:① the studied species are apparently clustered into three subgroups
supporting the treatment of constructing corresponding sections

SectNageia and SectPodocarpus in genus Podocarpus;② it is unreasonable to separate nageiaoids from Podocarpus and to establish a new family Nageiaceae
