The properties of bifurcation points of airfoil flutter with cubic nonlinearity in incompressible flow are studied.The centre manifold theory is used to reduce dimensions of the system. As a result
the type and stability of the bifurcation points in the reduced 2 dimension system can be determined by means of the formal series method.
