Considering the actual conditions of the road engineering in Baosteel tidal-flat enclosure region,the finite element software Plaxis is carried out to simulate the construction process of the PVDs with preloading. And consolidation and settlement characteristics of the large-area reclaimed soft soil foundations are analyzed from a numerical perspective. A comparative analysis of post-construction settlement models is made to evaluate their effects. Combining the specification with one-dimensional consolidation theory
a back-analysis of the soil parameters is performed. The results show that the principal settlement occurs in the preloading period. Asaoka prediction model has the highest accuracy in the site. The back analysis shows that the smaller compression modulus and consolidation coefficient of the soil due to structural disturbance are the reasons of higher theoretical calculation value of subsidence and “fast begin to slow after” of the numerical simulation.
