Manyknot spline interpolation is a class of curve and surface fitting method
In order to explore a new method for obtaining a zoom in image with a superior quality; the one dimensional manyknot spline curves algorithm is extended to that of two dimensions
which is applied to image zooming. It constructs a mixed piecewise manyknot spline interpolation surface for each color component of a digital image. The experimental results show that the method can improve the quality of zoomed image greatly. A fast algorithm is also described for efficiency
which is applied in digital pan and computer animation
