Curves Approximation with Hierarchical Many-knot Splines
a new curves approximation algorithm is proposed in this paper. The algorithm makes use of a hierarchy of control lattices to generate a sequence of functions whose sum approaches the desired approximation function. This algorithm can automatically select the proper control points according to the setting threshold. The satisfactory result is obtained for the fitting of experimental spectroscopic data using the optimization methods of cubic many-knot splines.
